Few days ago we have launched new airport riga fan page. At present moment rigaslidosta.lv includes most important information every traveler needs to know about airport Riga only in latvian, but we do plan to make it more attractive for english speaking audience.

How to get to Riga airport

Traveling is always fun, but paying for getting to you travel location is not fun at all, especially if you have to pay 30 or 50 EUR for a 20 minutes drive. However, getting to and from Riga Airport (lidosta Rīga) to the city center is cheap and very easy. There are three options to get to the city center - (1) by bus, (2) by car (taxi), (3) by mini bus or (4) walking (not recommended).

BUS No 22
Costs - 0,7 Lati (1 EUR)
Bus stop is located about 50 meters from the airport (beyond the parking place) and is easy to find.
Bus No 22 operates from the airport Riga to the City Center, but has stops in several locations across the city. Depending on the traffic jams, the journey could take about 30 minutes.
There are two bus stops you should take notice of - "11. Novembra krastmala" (first stop after you will over the river "Daugava") or the next one -  "13. Janvāra iela" (edge of the old town, close to the bus station, railway station, old town, cinema, etc.
Be sure to change money before entering the bus, as it is common that bus drivers are not able to change large banknotes.
Notice - Bus No 22 is the only bus in town, where you don't have to pay for the luggage.

TAXI 
Costs - ~10 Lati (~15 EUR). Price might be higher if you have to get to the other side of the city, but it should not exceed 25 EEUR.

There are several taxi companies operating at the Riga airport. Those that are in red or green colour are considered to be the most popular and convienient, but you can always try to bargain for a better price (recomendation - ask about the price, before you get it). If you travel with airbaltic you might want to use the taxi coupons they are selling on board (costs 9 Lats), but the price difference is not huge so no rush.
Depending on the traffic jams, taxi will take you to the center ir 10 - 20 minutes.

MINI BUS
Costs - 3 Lati (~5 EUR). Mini bus leaves every 30 minutes (5.30 a.m. - 00.45. a.m.). It has various stops

across the city and stops at biggest hotels. The ticket should be purchased in the airport.
